[ad. L. mansuēfacĕre, f. mansuē-, mansuēscĕre (see mansuete) + facĕre: see -fy.]
trans. To tame (Cockeram 1623). Hence mansuefaction [see -faction], ‘a taming or making gentle’ (Bailey vol. II, 1727).
